Mahone Nursing Home is a long term care
facility licensed by the Nova Scotia Department
of Health to provide nursing and personal care
to eligible individuals.
Located in the Town of Mahone Bay, Mahone
Nursing Home’s roots are deep seated in this
beautiful town. Built over 100 years ago, the
original building was operated as the Royal
Hotel. After closing the hotel, the building was
opened as a nursing home in 1965. In the early
1980’s the home was purchased by it’s current
owner, MacLeod Group, a Nova Scotia based
company with headquarters in Antigonish. MacLeod
Group operates five nursing homes in the
province. After renovations in the early 1990’s,
Mahone Nursing Home is now home to 57 residents.
Adjacent to the nursing home is Bayside
Lodge, a private house also owned and operated
by MacLeod Group. Bayside Lodge provides a home
for 4 independent individuals while receiving
support services from Mahone Nursing Home.
